While your favorite celebs arrived to the Met Gala looking like queens, a real liferoyal quietly made her debut at the event: Princess Beatrice. The 29-year-old aptly wore purple, the color associated with royalty, for the fashionable fête, in a billowy gown with sheer sleeves, an empire waist and jeweled details on the neckline and chest.
The princess currently resides in New York City, which made it easy for her to attend last night’s Met Gala. We assume she’ll be making her way across the pond next week for the highly anticipated wedding of her cousin, Prince Harry, to Meghan Markle. Later this year, Princess Eugenie is set to tie the knot to Jack Brooksbank in the same chapel.
Beatrice isn’t he first royal to attend the Met Ball; Princess Diana made an appearance (in Versace, no less) back in 1995. In the years following, other regal celebs like the Casiraghis of Monaco, Queen Rania of Jordan and Germany’s Princess Elisabeth von Thurn und Taxis.
Attending the Met Gala is just the latest on Princess Beatrice’s list of cool, non-royal activities, after vacationing in the desert with A-list friends like Karlie Kloss and Joshua Kushner, who were also at last night’s event.
